Backstage at the Victoria’s Secret After Party 2014

Last night, after the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show, the Angels made a quick change and headed to an exclusive after party (apparently tickets for civilians cost £11,000). These are some of my favourite beauty looks from the evening:

The Pony Club

I love a sleek ponytail and these girls were representing last night:

While Adriana went for the slightly more old school high pony, Doutzen opted for the chic nape of the neck tie. Both looked very high glam, but Adriana’s was ‘party till 8am’ whilst Doutzen’s was more ‘going to the Oscars’.

The Bob

Jourdan Dunn looked fun and flirty with a feline flick of her eyeliner and the very fashionable long bob. Its a youthful look that was perfect for her.

I love the brown lipstick Magdalena Frackowiak is wearing. A modern take on the 90s look.

Devon Windsor was a knockout with her shock of platinum hair and sixties lashes with nude lips.

Just goes to show, these girls look gorgeous off the catwalk as well as on.

Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Makeup

In honour of the Victoria’s Secret fashion show in London tonight, I thought I’d do a VS makeup look. Their girls always look so glowy and the makeup is really easy to copy.

The cheeks are very bronzed and glowy, with a natural pink gloss on the lips and gold and bronze eyeshadows on the eyes. They also use a lot of shimmer including under the eyes and on the cupids bow of the lips.

This is the look I did:

For the base I used a radiance primer (Laura Mercier) and then YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation mixed with a bit of NARS highlighter in Copacabana. This just adds more glow.

On the eyes, I used Half Baked from the Urban Decay Naked palette for the gold all over the lid, then for the outer corner I used a bronze shadow from a NARS palette. I just did a thin line of gel eyeliner. Under the lower lashes I applied pressed power highlighter and lined the water line with a white pencil. I added dots of kohl liner on the lash line and then applied Clinique mascara. Of course, the Angels wear at least one pair of lashes, but I am currently out of falsies so I had to make do with my own lashes. In the corner of my eyes, just by the tear ducts, I applied a bit of highlighter. This gives a more wide awake look to the eyes.

For the lips, I first of all lined them with a Chanel lip pencil in Natural and then went over them with Benefit lipgloss in Who Are You Wearing. I added a dab of shimmery highlighter to the cupids bow. This makes them seem fuller.

I finished off the look with some MORE highlighter, applied to the cheekbones and temples: Mac’s skinfinish in Superb. I finally added the blusher, Aglow by Clinique. This is a peachy/tan blusher which matches the colour favoured by the Angels.

I love this look because its simple enough for daytime but its still glam and pretty. Perfect for school or work.

Smells like Summer

I love perfumes and I believe that a scent that makes you think of summer can do wonders for your mood. I sometimes smell my summer moisturiser during the winter just to be instantly transported back to long summer days of sunbathing and instagramming my feet by a pool.

I am really excited about my list of this years best summer perfumes, so here they are. My scents of the summer.

First up, the Miss Dior Originale Eau de Toilette

There are a few different versions of the classic Miss Dior but this is my favourite for summer. It is lighter than the others and less imposing, if those are legit words for describing perfume…

It combines Jasmine, Patchouli and Galbanum  which is a plant that grows in Iran and Afghanistan which is what gives the perfume it’s ‘green notes’

Next is L’Eau de Chloe:

If in doubt, perfumes that are green in colour tend to be summery ones. This is a gorgeous fresh smell. It has light notes of freesia, peony, litchi and lily of the valley over a base that includes cedarwood and amber. This also makes it a good perfume for an evening.

This next one is my favourite of the three. It is the Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh:

This youthful fragrance combines all the connotations of summer in a cute bottle. It’s top notes include grapefruit, pear and raspberry which explains why I love it so much because I absolutely love any beauty product that is grapefuit scented. It’s sweet, but with an edge. I am definitely adding this to my ‘to buy’ list.

My last scent isn’t a perfume, it is a moisturiser that I thought was discontinued but it was actually only repackaged!

It is the Victoria’s Secret Pink Sun Kissed range:

This body butter btw is to die. It has really tiny bits of glitter so it gives you a gorgeous golden glow.

It used to be this:

It was pure chance that I managed to find it. I was just smelling all the different moisturisers in the shop and I instantly recognised this one as the beloved moisturiser I had 3 years ago. This coconutty goo makes me so happy I am thrilled to be reunited with it ❤

Those are my favourite scents for the summer. To me, they smell like tan lines and Wimbledon.
